it depends on alot but i would start by calling your local internet provider (go with cable if you can as it is the best connection) or dsl if you cannot. if you have more than one computer you will need a router. if you are wireless go with the wireless n router as it is the fastest but cat-5 cable will always be the best. that is really all you should need....your internet provider should send a tech guy that should hook it all up for you....
